Challenges: Creating a mix-use development that adheres to the building code while addressing the complexities of its site, context, and demographics.

Wynwood is identified by its cycles of strengths and shortcomings. As learned through its history, the community has gone from being one of the most dangerous neighborhoods to a hotspot in Miami multiple times. This project aims to follow the ideas of responding to the community, breaking the monotony, exposing it to light, and creating variation while adapting to the specific context of Wynwood. In order to respond to the community interest, the project intends to stay true to the form of its surroundings while providing spaces for growth-oriented programs to further strengthen the community. This industrialized form creates an implied monotony that is broken by the use of rectilinear elements as well as atriums that impose themselves into the building. The atriums allow the interaction between the spaces which creates different social and immersive spaces while providing variation in the program. The use of atriums allows for the natural light to get into the space while during the night the transparency of the building aims to become a night landmark for the city; a symbol of union and innovation for the community.
